Man has the ability to choose what he will do with his life, and is unified with a Law which automatically produces his choice.  — Science of Mind pg 193

Therefore I say to you, “all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them and they will be granted to you.”  Mark 11:24

How many times a day do we find ourselves using the expression “I am,” or “I have,” without realizing the power of the words we speak?  As we verbalize our thoughts, they are setting in motion whatever action we have declared, regardless of whether it is something we truly desire or something we dread.  Have we ever considered the double meaning of the word “sentence”?  How often do we pronounce sentence (judgment) on our conditions and activities, when our declarations are not so much statements of truth as they are statements of opinion.  We seldom stop to think about the sequence of the automatic actions of the Law of Mind which translates these ideas into conditions and experience ~ our everyday life!  We seldom give a second thought that each of these judgments erodes our Self-Confidence a little more, a little more, and a little more each day.

We would be served well by establishing new habits of thought and speech when we refer to ourselves.  Striving to be gentle with ourselves and others would surely bring more feelings of joy and calmness to our world.  Believing in a Higher Power, we must by definition believe in ourselves.  Can that Higher Power (which goes by many names depending upon your philosophy) know unhappiness, fear, or insecurity?  Of course not!  Therefore we might choose to eliminate from our speech anything that does not express Life at Its best.  When we are filling our minds with all the good things life brings we find a sense of peace and self-confidence surrounding us ~ and then spilling over onto others as a bonus!  Negative states of beingness cannot be linked with the Divine, because the Divine knows only perfection.

Awaken to the wonderful possibilities for good that are within you.  Direct your mind toward that good, and do your part by cooperating with the Source of right action.  Knowing that Divinity within is the essence of you, listen to your conversation, and by practicing, eliminate negative convictions and pronouncements about your activities.  Believe in yourself and watch your self-confidence soar!
